Right Click and Go Firefox Extension
I created this because there is a similar function in Opera but nothing native in firefox. I started it ages ago when the only extensions that did kind of the same thing were retarded in that it was easier to just copy paste the url than to use the exension.
So I made my own. It's my first firefox extension so some parts are probably a bit wonky but the code should be stable. There are probably other extensions out there that do this better, but hey. The extension adds two menu items to firefox's context menu (The right click menu) which are "Open [page] in background tab" and "Open [page] in foreground tab", [page] being the selected text.
For example, say someone wrote a url like www.criticaleffect.net but didnt make it a link, you can just select the url text with your mouse, right click and pick "Open "criticaleffect.net" in a foreground tab"
Tested in firefox 2.0.0.8 - 11 and 1.5.something on mac and windows but it should work on pretty much anything (Maybe not in the 3.0 beta).
If instead of firefox's extension installer popping up, firefox asks you to save the file; save it and drag it onto firefox to install.
